One Minute After You Die – Sanctuary
Led by David Moss
Death comes to all, and yet death is not the end. For some, death is the beginning of eternal bliss, for others, endless despair. In this class, we will weigh the Bible’s words on life after death. Though the afterlife is shrouded in mystery, the Bible does peel back the curtain, and we hope in this class to help you understand what is on the other side.
Reading John Theologically – Room 155
Led by David Nash
John’s Gospel has captured the imagination of Christians for nearly two millennia. Everyone from scholars and theologians to pastors and laymen have been captivated by the words of the Beloved Disciple. One of the reasons for this intrigue is that, unlike Matthew, Mark, and Luke, John has woven a uniquely rich theological tapestry into his Gospel. In this class, which will encompass the Fall, Winter, and Spring EU sessions, we will plumb the depths of John’s gospel, paying careful attention to the incredible theology that lay beneath the surface. With any eye toward John’s use of Genesis and the theme of creation’s renewal, this class will hopefully allow you to begin to read John’s Gospel through new eyes.
Search for Significance – Room 156
Led by Dan Wilemon (Pre-registration required)
The journey begins in a very private place – your thoughts: “When I fail at something, I feel lousy about myself.” “ When others don’t approve of me, I can’t seem to get over it.” “Sometimes it feels like I’ll never measure up. “
These are the universal lies that trigger the cycle of self-doubt, robbing you of joyful living. Now, you can free yourself from these self-defeating lies. In this Small Group class, we will confront these lies, dismantles them, and point you to higher truths that are the source of life’s meaning. We point you to an Almighty God-the source of life itself. You will study how 4 major Bible doctrines inform you of the truth of who you are in Christ!
