LifeBuilders Faith Process

LifeBuilders Faith Process

Step one: Memorize the Faith Definition.

Faith Definition: Faith is choosing to live as though the Bible is true regardless of circumstances, emotions, or cultural trends.

  • Internalize what it means to live by faith.

  • Faith is the “persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true.”

  • Genuine faith always affects HOW the believer lives his or her life. Faith is never merely an intellectual change; it always changes one’s life.

  • The choice of faith is to choose to live exactly how the Bible is stated regardless of your circumstances, regardless of your emotions, and regardless of the cultural trends that may be influencing your life.

Step Two: Ask the Faith Question.

Faith Question: If I were living as though the Bible is true, then how would I be living according to a particular passage?

Turn to God’s Word in faith and begin living as though it is true, regardless of your circumstances, how you feel about it, or the cultural trends that surround you.  Begin asking the “faith question” in every situation in your life: If I were living as though the Bible were true, then how would I be living according to a particular passage?

Step Three: Ask for the Holy Spirit's Help.

Ask the Holy Spirit of God to help you live as though the Bible were true.

One of Scripture’s most wonderful promises is found in I John 5:14-15.  “This is the confidence which we have before Him that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”  If God is more concerned with our obedience than we are, then we should have the confidence when we ask Him to help us to live according to His Word rather than by our circumstances, emotions or cultural trends.
