Surviving the Holidays

Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated?

GriefShare’s Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. The seminar will be offered twice prior to the upcoming holidays: November 6th and December 4th from 6:30-8:00pm in Room 167. Participants will view a video, have a chance to talk with others (or just listen!), and receive a Survival Guide with practical strategies, words of strength and valuable tips and exercises for surviving the holiday season.  You’ll learn:

  • How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
  • What to do about traditions and other coming changes
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events
  • How to discover hope for your future

Support Group

Beginning January 8, 2020 and continuing weekly for 13 weeks.

GriefShare is a support group for those grieving the death of a loved one. The group meets weekly and is led by compassionate people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives. In a warm and caring environment, participants view encouraging information-packed videos featuring leading grief recovery experts; have small group discussion about the weekly video content; and have journaling and personal study exercises that reinforce the weekly session topics. The weekly support group will meet in the Conference Room from 6:30-8pm beginning January 8, 2020.
