Philippians 4: 10 - 20
10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me. 14 Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16 Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. 18 I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
We are asking every single person who calls Western Avenue home to be involved in the three-year IGNITE initiative. Our ultimate goal is 100% participation as we look to provide a place for our children to be discipled and a place for all of us to enjoy fellowship with one another. If the Lord has already helped you determine your commitment to this vision, please join us on Sunday, March 24 at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary for an Advanced Commitment Worship Service. We will enjoy a time of worship as we sing and read Scripture and give you the opportunity to encourage and inspire the rest of the congregation as you turn in your commitment card (if you are not prepared, you can turn in your commitment card on Sunday morning, April 7). We will close the evening with refreshments in the fellowship hall. This is very important evening in the life of our church. I hope you will be there!

Our culture is constantly telling us that we can achieve anything we set our mind to. Sadly, many followers of Christ and many churches have adopted this self-sufficient mindset, relying on their own wisdom and abilities instead of relying on God. But what if we were never intended to be self sufficient? And what if God has designed us so that our greatest satisfaction is found as we depend on Him fully for everything we need? In Secret Church 19 we will take an in-depth look at the Bible’s teaching on prayer and fasting. We will see that our inabilities and weaknesses are the very place where God meets us with His strength and sufficiency. We will also see that faithfulness to the mission of Christ requires depending on the Spirit of Christ. Through prayer and fasting, we demonstrate our need for God’s power and our desire for His glory.
Our next scheduled Parent/Child Dedication will be Sunday, May 26. If you would like your child dedicated, please send the church office (firstname.lastname@example.org) the following information: child’s full name, their date of birth, parents’ names, siblings’ names, and which service you would prefer - 8:30 AM or 11:00 AM. Please let us know by Sunday, May 19.
