Are you a parent of a child with Attention Deficit Disorder, or are you an adult who has Attention Deficit Disorder? If so, you are not alone. According to a CDC report released in 2016, approximately 9.4% of children 2-17 years of age (6.1 million) had ever been diagnosed with ADHD, according to their parent’s report. And while hyperactivity tends to diminish with age, inattention tends to last into adulthood, with The American Academy of Family Physicians reporting that two-thirds of children with ADHD continue to grapple with the condition throughout adulthood.
In this 11 week class, Gladys Lowry and Ellen Fox will unpack ADHD- and provide information for parents on topics such as “Your Child’s ADHD Life,” “Why Does My Child Act that Way,” and “Strategies for your Child’s School Success.” The final four weeks of the quarter will focus on adult ADHD, including topics such as “Adult ADHD-We Don’t Outgrow it,” “Messages from Your Spouse with ADHD,” “Ten ways to Balance ADHD with a Happy Marriage,” and “Better Time Management for Adults with ADHD.”
