We hope you are enjoying our series of “Meet Our Members” and that you are learning something about your fellow WABC members! We are featuring people who joined throughout all the decades here at WABC.
Andy and Jane Lewis joined the church on May 26, 2013. Both were raised in church. Andy was raised in the Southern Baptist faith and attended Diamond Hill Baptist Church his entire life. Jane was raised in the Methodist faith and attended Race Street Methodist Church. Both accepted Christ when they were 11-12 years old and were also baptized then.
Being in Statesville, the Lewises had always known of WABC. When there was an upheaval in their former church, God brought them to WABC. If not for their family being members at WABC, they may have stayed away from church altogether. God led them to WABC by His grace and infinite wisdom, and they are forever grateful for that.
Upon visiting, Andy and Jane say WABC is the friendliest church they have ever been in. They look forward each Sunday to see happy faces everywhere they look. They feel that being in church just “isn’t the right thing to do” but it’s where you want to and need to be.
Andy and Jane have been married for 47 years and they have two daughters, Elizabeth (Beth) Deuel and Julie Lewis Shoaf. Andy was a brick mason, owning his own business with a partner for 27 years. Jane worked at Iredell Memorial Hospital in various positions for her entire career. Both are now retired and enjoying their home “in the woods”.
They are excited about the future at WABC with the new building program and the emphasis on our children and their Christian walk. They believe in training up a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from his faith. Andy and Jane are excited for the growth and future of this church at WABC and the world!
