IGNITE... One Verse at a Time

Last week I was going through the papers from my daughter’s bookbag. She had drawn and doodled during indoor recess and right there on top of her clipboard was written “God will always be with me.” Whew! That got right to my heart… that she would be thinking of that while at school and write it down on her paper?!

We’ve been working on memorizing the verse Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” This was also a topic of one of the recent lessons from Avenue Kids on Wednesday nights. As a parent, to watch your child learn and make connections from what they are talking about at church is amazing.

Joshua 1:9 is my Ignite verse because I can see God at work in the lives of children during this very impressionable time. I am excited to better equip the children’s ministry with the designated space they need to grow and better meet the needs of our students – ultimately so they can learn more about Jesus! God is with us wherever we go! As we go into this Ignite initiative…. He is with us and I am excited to see where He will lead us!
