This Sunday we finished up our year-long study in Exodus. We see the Israelites as they journey toward the Promised Land. God is not going with them; he is sending an angel. But, they really wanted God to go with them. Like the Israelites, we too are on a journey to the Promised Land and we need God on our journey today. The most wonderful thing about heaven is that we will be in the presence of God.
Like the Israelites, we hunger and thirst for the presence of the Lord among us. Moses asked God to, “Show me your glory.” Moses had seen the burning bush, the parting of the Red Sea, God giving him the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, yet he still asked God to see more of His glory. This would be a good thing for us to pray before worship, asking God to show us His glory.
When Moses comes down from the mountain, he has a glow, so much that he had to wear a veil over his face. The glory of God was reflecting off him. We need to spend time with the Lord so we can reflect Him. We need to get recharged.
We can look to Jesus because we have seen His glory. Jesus on the cross gives us the full expression of God’s glory. Behold His Glory!
