Christ in the Old Testament

This past Sunday, we began a new sermon series, "Christ in the Old Testament".

In order to go all the way back to the beginning of Jesus, we go all the way back to the very beginning in Genesis 1:1. This establishes that God is an eternal God. He was there and always will be.

During creation, God brought light to darkness, chaos to order and life from non-life.

The story of Jesus is here too. John 1:1 starts out with the same words "In the beginning..."
Verses 2 & 3 continue that "He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made."

The universe was created to display the Glory of God!

1. Jesus is the creater God. He is equal with the father. He is constant in His existence.
2. Jesus owns all things, absolutely.
3. Everything exists to fulfill the glory of Christ.

In all we do, ask, "Is this act bringing Glory to Christ?"
