Jesus is considered a great moral teacher, even by those who do not believe in his divinity. And He taught on a wide range of topics, not just issues of religion or morality. But even though he did not directly address specific issues confronting us in the 21st century, what he taught does have a bearing on the philosophical, moral, social, legal, and political questions of our day. What would Jesus think about the current debates over religious pluralism, relativism, abortion, stem cell research, feminism, judging others, going to war, tolerance, diversity, civil rights, state-run welfare, or same-sex marriage? The answers may surprise you! Come for a discussion oriented class where your input is valued and expect to do some informative reading and thinking about current issues between classes.
