The Psalmist wrote, “It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.” Man was created to worship the Lord and bring glory to His holy name.

At Western Avenue Baptist Church, we recognize the power of praising God and embrace worship as the cornerstone of what we do. We want to magnify the Lord with our music and singing. When God is magnified, He becomes greater in our perspective. Our desire is to bring people to a moment of personal encounter with the living God. As we give praise and worship to God, His Spirit freely works in us to bring about forgiveness, encouragement, peace and an increased faith and assurance of His love.

Many people leave a service thinking only about what they got out of it. At Western Avenue, we are more concerned with what God thought of the service. Even if you don’t participate in the music ministry, let me encourage you to "sing to the Lord a new song" wherever you are. He desires (and loves) to hear His children sing His praises.
