LADIES – HOW CAN YOU GET CONNECTED?
Girlfriend Connection seeks to be instrumental in connecting women in our community and our church by offering interest-based activity groups. We are a steppingstone to building a deeper relationship with the Lord. We want to be the link that connects women of all ages and stages of life through the unconditional love of Christ. We want women to grow spiritually, live with purpose and serve Christ by serving others.

GEMS - Girls Enrichment Ministry - Coming in 2007! Mentoring and relationship building for teens and college-age ladies. Quarterly socials. Contact Melissa Friend 704-876-6696.
Girlfriends in Prayer - Prayer requests are sent through e-mail loop as well as phone calls. To submit request or to become part of this prayer chain contact Lois Pemberton 704-873-3564.
Green Thumb Girlfriends – Gardening group that visits greenhouses, gardening shows, each other’s gardens, etc. Contact Pam Robinson 704-528-4127 to confirm dates and location.
Hearts and Crafts - Crafts group meets the second Saturday of each month, WABC Multipurpose Room, 9:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. Project line up: October- Beaded Turkey. November – Framed Art at Cora Young’s house, December (date/location may be rescheduled. Please call Sharon or Karen) – One-Stroke Painting, January and February – Crochet, March – Pansy wreath, April – Cake Decorating and May – Beads ‘n Things. Heart to Heart- Outreach group meets the second Sunday of each month, except for December & April (12/17 & 4/15). Meet at WABC at 3:30 p.m. Activities include: "Being a blessing" to local neighborhood helpers, i.e. firefighters, paramedics, police officers (taking them goodies, etc.), visiting nursing homes, UMAR group home and WABC shut-ins. We focus on including and teaching our children how to show the love of Jesus in a real and practical way. Contact Laura Holland at (704) 873-9014.
Mug Buddies - "Secret Sister" program. We share our favorite coffee/tea mug with our secret sister and pray for her and her family. Optional fellowship opportunities. Contact Sherrill McKinney 704-873-9024.
REEL Friends - Casting call for all ladies who love watching movies! Meets periodically at someone’s home or at the movie theater. Next up is "Dinner and a Movie!" Call Brittany Friend 704-876-6696.
Stampin' & Scrappin' - This is a great time to devote to scrapbooking or creating your own cards! Meets the third Friday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. Contact Laura Frame 704-883-8678.
Treasures by Hand – Craft group meets once a week on Mondays from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. We will give a portion of our creations to shut-ins, newborns, cancer patients, and others. We will also make crafts that can be sold with the proceeds going to support our mission groups. We will use many forms of crafting from knitting to crocheting, quilting, cross-stitch and much more. “Welcome Wagon” – We take gift baskets to visitors and new members twice monthly. Men and teens/children are encouraged to participate on home visits. If the basket recipient has children close to your children’s ages, take your children on the visit so the visiting children will have a familiar face to look for on Sundays.
