2017 Winter Equipping University – Membership Matters, Wednesdays, January 11 - February, 15, 6:30 PM each night, Worship Center
Our pastor Jeff Spry will teach the only EU class offered in the winter semester. The class is entitled Membership Matters and is suited for all church members as well as for anyone who would like to know more about what it means to be a member of the church body. God intends for us to play an active and vital part in the body of Christ, the local church. He wants us to experience the local church as a home more profoundly wonderful and meaningful than any other place on earth. He intends for his churches to be healthy places and for the members of those churches to be healthy as well. In this class, we will explore the scriptural reasoning for becoming a church member and see that membership really does matter. The class will be held in the sanctuary and we would encourage everyone who is able to attend.
We are in a New Year and it is once again time for our Fifth Sunday Feed-a-Family Food Drive and the Wilson/Green Sunday School Class would like to once again ask for your continued support of this ministry. In October 2016 through the generosity of so many of you, we were able to make fourteen distributions of food and gift cards as well as take a large amount to the Baptist Center for their distribution. We were also able to make another fifteen distributions during November and December. Thank you for your help as we strive to meet the needs of those who need a little extra help. Please bring all donations to the Information Center or to Room 154 by Sunday, January 29.
Items that are always needed are peanut butter, jelly, crackers, pancake mix and syrup, canned ravioli/spaghetti, spaghetti noodles and sauce, macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables, tuna, salmon, beef stew, Treet, flour, corn meal, cooking oil, rice, dried beans, sugar, soups, canned fruits and fruit juice, cereals, grits, oatmeal, paper and hygiene products. Grocery gift cards are also very helpful.
Join us for a fun night at the Children's Theater of Charlotte
Friday, February 3, 7:30 PM
Junie B. Jones is not a Crook
This is a family event and is recommended for children four years and older. The cost of the LIMITED tickets is $10 each. Tickets are first-come, first-served and can be reserved with Carrie Allen. You should do so today because they will go fast!
The Children's Theater of Charlotte is located at ImaginOn, 300 East Seventh Street (between Sixth Street, Seventh Street, Brevard Street, and the Lynx Light Rail).
*Please note: The Staff at the Children's Theater is very conscientious about making sure every person gets to hear the show without distraction. If you feel your child could not sit through the 70 minute performance quietly, this may not be a good event for them to attend.
$5 per person
Mini-golf, Laser Tag, Laser Maze, Bowling, Arcade, and Pizza. Who could ask for a better Saturday? Bo's Entertainment Complex is up the road in Lenoir. Afterward we will stop at Krispy Kreme for some yummy Hot 'n' Now doughnuts.
