Conflict is Inevitable; Combat is Optional (Room 156)

Teacher: Kyle Tucker

Do you want to diffuse arguments with your spouse before they begin? Improve cooperation and communication with a difficult co-worker? Build healthier relationships and minimize conflict with friends and family members? This course will help you identify your own and others conflict style; understand your perceptual filters and assumptions about conflict; learn to navigate conflict successfully with others; and develop skills for successful conflict resolution and relationship enhancement. Comprehending and learning how to utilize the four factors of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) are also included. EQ is a form of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one’s own and others’ feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide one’s thinking and action. Scriptural imperatives regarding conflict and relating peacefully to others will undergird all course content.

Kyle Tucker has over 25 years of executive coaching and organizational effectiveness consulting in Corporate America. After a successful career at GE, she started her own consulting practice and works with companies such as Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Merck, Shell Oil and others. Kyle is a cum laude graduate of Elon University and obtained her Master’s degree in Christian Counseling, cum laude, from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is married to Mike Tucker and they attend Western Avenue Baptist.
